What is - and What isn't in Chicken Feed

The main ingredient in all chicken feed is grains. Grains commonly used in chicken feed include corn, wheat and barley. To improve the taste, texture and nutritional content of feed, other ingredients are added such as soybean or canola or fats, minerals and amino acids. Meat meal is also commonly used. It is an excellent source of phosphorus, protein and energy. The chickens’ diet contains no hormones and no antibiotics, only plenty of grains, proteins, vitamins and minerals.
