The Environmental Farm Plan Program

Environmental practices on all Canadian turkey farms, regardless of their size, are regulated by federal and provincial laws. Many turkey farmers exceed regulations, developing environmental farm plans (EFP), which helps them to evaluate and continually minimize the impact of their farm operations on the environment.

Brent and his father have gone through the Environmental Farm Plan process three times and have made many environmental enhancements to their farm as a result of this process including building a covered manure storage shed, practicing conservation tillage methods with their crops and digging a new well.
