This is the farm's laying hen barn. Pullets (young hens) arrive here at 17 weeks of age from a pullet barn where they've lived since they were a day old. At 17 weeks of age, they're not quite old enough to lay eggs but will start about two weeks later. That two week time period also gives them time to settle into their new surroundings. They'll live in this barn for about one year.
